Pan Pacific Hotels Group is set to make a significant mark in Kyoto, Japan, with the signing of a strategic partnership with Tokyu Hotels.
This collaboration follows the successful launch of Bellustar Tokyo, a Pan Pacific Hotel, and Hotel Groove Shinjuku, a Parkroyal Hotel in Tokyo’s Shinjuku district last year.
This partnership leverages the strong global presence of Pan Pacific Hotels Group, its extensive international sales and marketing network across Asia Pacific, Europe, and North America, and its robust distribution platforms supported by advanced technology infrastructure.
The new addition, The Hotel Higashiyama Kyoto Tokyu, a Pan Pacific Hotel, will also join the Pan Pacific Discovery loyalty program, potentially reaching 27 million members worldwide.
Mr. Choe Peng Sum, chief executive officer of Pan Pacific Hotels Group, commented on the expansion: “The successful openings of Bellustar Tokyo and Hotel Groove Shinjuku significantly increased international travelers to both hotels, with around 60% of total guests originating from our loyalty program. With Japan seeing a 65.9% increase in visitor arrivals from January to June 2024, reaching 17.8 million, and Kyoto consistently ranking among the top five most visited cities, this partnership comes at an opportune time.”
Mr. Jun Murai, representative director and president of Tokyu Hotels & Resorts Co., Ltd., expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: “Partnering with Pan Pacific Hotels Group for the third property following the successful openings last year aligns perfectly with our core values and vision. By combining our strengths, we aim to create an even better brand for our guests and the local community, offering a blend of unique local experiences and traditional beauty.”
The design of The Hotel Higashiyama Kyoto Tokyu, a Pan Pacific Hotel, harmoniously blends Eastern and Western aesthetics, drawing inspiration from the calming flow of the nearby Shirakawa River.
This 143-room hotel, which recently celebrated its second anniversary, offers convenient access to many of Kyoto’s attractions. Guests can indulge in “Kyoto Iroha,” a cultural experience program that enhances their appreciation of Kyoto’s distinct aesthetics.
Embodying Pan Pacific’s ethos of graceful luxury and sincere hospitality, the hotel features an elegant tea bar showcasing Japanese tea ceremonies, a 78-seater restaurant and bar, and an onsen-style experience with three private baths.
Located just four minutes from Higashiyama station on the Kyoto City Subway Tozai Line and 20 minutes by taxi from JR Kyoto station, the hotel is also close to the famous Gion district and within walking distance of Heian Shrine and the National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto.
