Wyndham Hotel Group boosts Ramada Presence in Thailand by opening of the 206-room Ramada Phuket Deevana in the heart of Thailand’s lively Patong Beach. The THB 1 billion (AUD$38 million) development, owned by Deevana Hotels and Resorts Co., Ltd., provides a serene escape in the bustling beach town, and offers Deluxe rooms, Premier rooms and Junior suites, all with private balconies.
The contemporary resort joins four additional Ramada properties currently open and operating in Thailand, a popular spot for international travellers with the country’s Department of Tourism charting more than 2 million visitors monthly. Because of its consistently high appeal to travellers worldwide, Thailand is a key country in Wyndham Hotel Group’s development strategy for the region.
The opening of Ramada Phuket Deevana also follows the June opening of Wyndham’s first mixed-use property in Asia, Wyndham Sea Pearl Resort Phuket, which accommodates hotel guests as well as timeshare owners through CLUB WYNDHAM ASIA®.
Ramada, which has a global portfolio of nearly 840 properties in approximately 60 countries, is experiencing tremendous growth in the region. The Hotel Group recently announced signings for Ramada properties in Broome, Australia and Auckland, New Zealand; agreements for 17 new Ramada properties in South Korea scheduled to open by 2018; and plans for eight new Ramada properties in China to open by the end of 2017.
Ramada Phuket Deevana offers guests a central location close to Patong’s most popular attractions including white-sand beaches, vibrant nightlife, shopping and entertainment. The resort boasts a third-floor swimming pool, a fitness centre, a kids’ club, a restaurant and the Orientala Wellness Spa.
“We are delighted to partner with the world’s largest hotel company for the development of Ramada Phuket Deevana and look forward to providing guests with a stylish and contemporary accommodation option that matches the Ramada brand’s reputable standards,” said Ramada Phuket Deevana Chief Executive Officer Suksit Suvanditkul.
