Rotana Joins Global Hotel Alliance

Rotana joins Global Hotel Alliance in a major move that brings 80 new properties into one of the world’s largest hotel loyalty networks. The Abu Dhabi-based hospitality brand is now part of GHA DISCOVERY, the award-winning loyalty program with more than 30 million members worldwide.

The integration means travelers will soon be able to earn and redeem DISCOVERY Dollars (D$) across Rotana’s expansive portfolio, which spans the Middle East, North Africa, Eastern Europe, and Turkey. Whether it’s a sleek city stay at Centro by Rotana or a relaxing getaway at Rotana Hotels & Resorts, members will enjoy perks like room upgrades, flexible check-in and check-out, exclusive local offers, and more.

The alliance includes five Rotana brands: Rotana Hotels & Resorts, Rayhaan Hotels & Resorts by Rotana, Centro by Rotana, Arjaan Hotel Apartments by Rotana, and Edge by Rotana. All 80 properties are expected to be fully integrated into the GHA DISCOVERY platform by early 2026. This expansion offers both new and returning guests greater flexibility, choice, and value—especially for those already familiar with Rotana’s distinct service culture and regional prominence.

For Rotana, the partnership is a strategic step that opens doors to new markets and elevates its international profile. GHA DISCOVERY generated a staggering $2.7 billion in revenue and 11 million room nights in 2024 alone, and now Rotana stands to benefit from that global reach. Travelers who have been part of Rotana Rewards will soon transition to Rotana DISCOVERY, accessing the same rich benefits that GHA DISCOVERY members enjoy.

Membership benefits don’t end with free nights. The DISCOVERY Dollars system, with D$1 equal to US$1, makes it easier than ever to earn rewards from the very first stay. Whether booking for business or leisure, members also gain access to hotel amenities—even without an overnight stay—thanks to the program’s unique Local Offers. These perks are designed to enhance everyday experiences, like enjoying a spa, dining at hotel restaurants, or accessing fitness centers.

Chris Hartley, CEO of Global Hotel Alliance, called Rotana’s inclusion a “significant milestone,” especially given the company’s dominance in the MENA region. “With Rotana joining, we will be close to 950 hotels, and we have high hopes to hit 1,000 hotels very soon,” he said, underscoring GHA’s rapid growth trajectory.

Cross-brand activity is a key driver behind GHA DISCOVERY’s value. When loyalty members move between different brands within the alliance, they don’t just rack up points—they contribute to a larger ecosystem. In 2024 alone, such movement generated $370 million in incremental revenue, demonstrating how customer loyalty fuels brand success across the alliance.

Philip Barnes, CEO of Rotana, sees the partnership as a natural evolution of Rotana’s commitment to guest-centric service. “With GHA DISCOVERY, we are enhancing the benefits available to our loyal guests while expanding our reach through a world-class alliance of independent hotel brands,” he stated.

The timing couldn’t be better. As travel demand rebounds across regions and travelers look for greater value in their stays, hotel groups are leaning into loyalty programs as a way to retain and reward guests. GHA’s network, with luxury and lifestyle brands spanning nearly 100 countries, is uniquely positioned to meet this demand.

Rotana’s inclusion brings added strength to the alliance’s offerings in key markets, particularly in the Gulf and North Africa, where the brand enjoys a loyal following and a strong operational footprint. As more properties go live on the GHA platform in 2025 and early 2026, members will have more opportunities to explore new destinations—while enjoying consistent service and flexible rewards.

With Rotana now in the fold, travelers can expect a richer, more seamless experience across borders and brands. And with nearly 1,000 hotels soon to be part of the alliance, it’s safe to say that GHA DISCOVERY is redefining what global hotel loyalty looks like.
