Russia Emerges as Top Holiday Destination for Its Own Citizens

According to a recent survey, 42% of Russians prefer to spend their holidays in Russia.

The survey, conducted by News.ru, also found that 11% of participants chose Turkish resorts as their favorite vacation spots.

Only 6% of Russians prefer to spend their holidays in Europe or East Asian countries.

Meanwhile, 2% of respondents favor Egypt and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries, and 1% enjoy vacationing in China.

Interestingly, 30% of respondents asked what a holiday is, highlighting diverse perspectives on leisure time. The survey included more than 4,000 participants.

All-inclusive holidays have also become popular in Russia. This trend is especially noticeable among families with children. Coastal resorts and rural hotels are expanding their services to meet this demand.

The Russian all-inclusive concept differs from the Turkish model but has seen a 20% increase in demand, particularly in the Krasnodar Region and Crimea.

Specific standards for all-inclusive and ultra all-inclusive hotels in Russia are set by GOST. GOST standards were originally developed by the government of the Soviet Union as part of its national standardization strategy. GOST is an acronym for gosudarstvennyy standart, which means government standard.

Three-star hotels typically offer outdoor pools, sports activities, and a few entertainment events. Four and five-star hotels provide master classes, night shows, and extensive menus.
