San Francisco, a city celebrated for its commercial and cultural vibrancy, is now home to the first U.S. destination of Accor’s Handwritten Collection.
The Hotel Stratford, managed by local firm Frame Ventures, is a European-style boutique hotel located in the heart of Union Square on the historic Powell Street cable car line.
This property is Accor’s third in the city, complementing its Fairmont hotels on Nob Hill and at Ghirardelli Square.
Hotel Stratford, part of the Handwritten Collection, was established in 1910 and has recently benefited from a substantial multi-million-dollar renovation. This refurbishment has preserved the property’s unique San Francisco essence across its 94 elegantly appointed rooms, combining rich history with contemporary charm and sophistication.
The hotel’s inviting lobby features classic wooden paneling and marble counters alongside modern self-check-in technology. This summer, the hotel will introduce Navé, a vibrant new European-style café/bar designed by the renowned MODO firm.
