Steigenberger Opens An Airport Hotel in Berlin

Steigenberger Opens An Airport Hotel at Berlin Brandenburg Airport

Steigenberger Hotels & Resorts, a Deutsche Hospitality brand, later this year will open a hotel directly adjacent to the terminal of the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport.

The new 322-room Steigenberger Airport Hotel Berlin will open on schedule on 31 October 2020 to coincide with the launch of flight operations at Berlin Brandenburg Airport. The hotel will be sited immediately alongside the main terminal building.

Its Director will be Steffi Wisotzky, who has recently turned the IntercityHotel Berlin Hauptbahnhof into one of the brand’s most successful hotels.

The landmark Steigenberger Airport Hotel Berlin will raise Steigenberger Hotels’ presence in the German capital to three. Other Steigenberger hotels in Berlin are Steigenberger Airport Hotel Berlin and Steigenberger Hotel am Kanzleramt.

The Hamburg-based property developer ECE was in charge of the development, leasing and realisation of the new Airport Hotel. ECE was also responsible for ensuring that the hotel was completed on schedule and that it will be ready to open at the time when the new airport is due to commence operations.

It will feature an à la carte restaurant with adjoining bar. A spa and health and beauty facility on the fifth floor will extend over an area of 300 square metres as well as offering a separate gym. A conference centre with eleven meeting rooms capable of accommodating up to 500 persons will provide an ideal and easily accessible airport setting for events and presentations of every kind.

“We are proud to be able to launch a Steigenberger Hotels & Resorts hotel at such a location,” said Denis Hüttig, Vice President Operations Steigenberger Hotels & Resorts.

“Our guests can expect to find an international business hotel which will also act as the perfect base for short trips and holiday travel.”

The Steigenberger Airport Hotel Berlin will be a great option for all visitors, regardless of whether they are seeking to explore the hustle and bustle of city life or else enjoy the idyllic surroundings of the nearby Spreewald district. The journey from the hotel into central Berlin by public transport takes just under 30 minutes (services depart every 10 minutes).

Berlin has many points of interest, including the Reichstag Parliament Building, the Gendarmenmarkt and the Kurfürstendamm. There is also a multitude of other attractions, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, places and gardens to explore and relax in. Visitors in search of peace and quiet will wish to head for the Spreewald, an expansive region of woodland and fens in the State Of Brandenburg.
