TUI Blue Expands To The Holiday Island Of Sylt

Spending holidays in Germany is not only a trend in times of the coronavirus. In recent years, domestic travel was already popular with German holidaymakers.

TUI Group is, therefore, expanding the hotel portfolio of TUI Blue and will bring the lifestyle brand to the holiday island of Sylt for the first time from spring 2021. To this end, the existing Dorfhotel in Rantum will be comprehensively modernized and further developed in the style of the lifestyle hotel brand.

“We are seeing consistently strong demand on Germany’s coasts and on the islands. With the repositioning as TUI Blue, we are securing a top hotel location in Sylt,” says Sebastian Ebel, the Group Board Member responsible for Hotels & Resorts. “We have a long-standing, trusting business relationship with the owner GBI AG. I am very pleased to continue the growth of TUI Blue together with partners in line with our ‘asset light’ strategy. Our lifestyle hotel brand is a perfect fit for this island, which also stands for unique holiday experiences”.

The hotel with its 159 apartments offers young and grown-up guests a lot of space and a variety of opportunities to discover the North Sea island. As TUI Blue ‘For All’, the hotel is designed for holidaymakers who value high quality and want to combine their stay with authentic experiences in the region. The focus will be on the culture and ambience of the popular holiday island. TUI Blue Sylt is suitable for families and couples as well as for groups and conferences. Guests can also expect the holistic fitness and relaxation programme Bluef!t and the culinary offerings of the TUI Blue hotels from April 2021. The dishes are of high quality and adapted to all diets, whether gluten- or lactose-free, vegan, vegetarian or low carb and high-protein. With its combined heat and power unit and its own electric charging station, TUI Blue Sylt supports the “Sustainable Blue” initiative which aims to contribute to a better world.
