Utah Welcomes Grand Hyatt Brand with New Deer Valley Resort

Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Extell Development Company have recently announced an exciting development in the world of luxury resorts.

The Grand Hyatt brand is set to expand to Park City, Utah, with the opening of Grand Hyatt Deer Valley, expected in late 2024. This marks the Grand Hyatt brand’s debut in Utah, and the property will be situated in the renowned Deer Valley Resort. Designed as a unique destination within a destination, it will be the first luxury hotel in Deer Valley Resort’s upcoming expansion.

Located just 40 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport, Grand Hyatt Deer Valley is poised to offer 387 spacious guestrooms, including 40 suites and 55 private residences. The property will also boast 38,900 square feet of indoor event space, featuring a grand ballroom spanning 10,000 square feet. Guests can look forward to a variety of world-class dining options, including an après ski bar and grill, a signature bar and restaurant, and a coffee bistro. The hotel will also feature an expansive outdoor event terrace with stunning mountain views, a heated year-round pool and whirlpool, a fitness center, and more.

The opening of Grand Hyatt Deer Valley for the 2024/2025 ski season aligns with Hyatt’s strategic growth plan, offering guests and World of Hyatt members new ways to explore destinations through unique experiences. Kimo Bertram, Vice President of Development, Americas, emphasized the hotel’s alignment with Hyatt’s expansion of luxury brands in prime destinations. Grand Hyatt Deer Valley promises to be a luxurious retreat for both group and leisure travelers, offering a perfect blend of exploration and relaxation.

Nestled in the heart of Deer Valley Resort, the hotel offers direct access to the slopes and the resort’s various attractions, including restaurants, shops, a children’s center, and one of the world’s largest ski beaches. The expansion of Deer Valley Resort will double the skiable terrain, add 16 new ski lifts, and introduce a state-of-the-art gondola, providing efficient access to over 235 ski runs.

Gary Barnett, Founder & Chairman of Extell Development Company, highlights that Grand Hyatt Deer Valley has been years in the making and is set to be the cornerstone of the new village at Deer Valley Resort. The hotel is uniquely positioned as one of the nation’s only conference facilities in a ski destination, offering luxurious finishes and top-tier amenities. Additionally, in a move to honor military service members, the hotel will offer benefits and amenities to active and retired military personnel.

With its expected opening in late 2024, World of Hyatt members will have the opportunity to experience Deer Valley’s renowned ski resort while earning points for free nights, dining, and wellbeing experiences.
