The American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) announced that Kevin V. Wang is joining the association, effective today, as Director, Industry Affairs & Research.
Wang brings to ASTA over 10 years of experience in the travel and tourism industry, including at the U.S. Travel Association and Choice Hotels International. He has expertise in managing quantitative and qualitative research studies and projects and a proven track record in managing data collection, tracking studies, managing clients and vendors, performing data analysis and compiling dashboards and reports.
At ASTA, he will be responsible for supporting the Senior Vice President, Government & Industry Affairs (Eben Peck) and Vice President, Industry Affairs (Mark Meader) in the development and execution of ASTA’s wide-ranging industry affairs and research agenda, including the collection, analysis, reporting, marketing and monetizing of data about ASTA, the travel agency industry and the broader travel and tourism industry, as well as association issues generally. Wang also will assist in monitoring industry issues and trends that affect travel agency businesses and in representing association members to suppliers and other industry groups.
“We strive to arm our members with critical research insights that will help them effectively market themselves to consumers and suppliers alike, and we are confident that Kevin is the right candidate for this mission, and the right fit for our organization,” said President and CEO Zane Kerby. “Given his background at U.S. Travel and Choice Hotels, and in executing complex research projects, we know Kevin will be a key asset for ASTA and our members.”
