GainingEdge, a leading name in venue consulting, has officially welcomed Mark Oliver Schloesser to its team as of October 1, 2023.
Schloesser, with an impressive 25-year track record in the convention and exhibition industry, has previously collaborated with giants like Deutsche Messe in Germany and Indonesia, and Hannover in Hong Kong and Shanghai.
One of the first assignments for Schloesser at GainingEdge is the prestigious role of lead operations consultant for the China National Convention Center-Phase 2 (CNCC2) in Beijing. Notably, CNCC2 was the Main Media Center for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics. The center is now transitioning to become China’s top international convention and exhibition hub, with doors set to open in the fourth quarter of 2024.
Jon Sivertson, CEO of GainingEdge, expressed his enthusiasm about Schloesser’s addition to the team. He highlighted Mark’s diverse experience, including architectural training and asset management, as a significant asset that will enhance the company’s venue consulting services.
Schloesser shared his excitement about joining GainingEdge and the opportunity to contribute to the CNCC2 project and other future endeavors. He reflected on his extensive experience in various aspects of the industry, from feasibility and design to construction and pre-opening projects.
GainingEdge’s collaboration with Beijing North Star Convention and Exhibition Investment Co., Ltd., the developer behind CNCC2, began in 2021. The partnership focuses on pre-opening operations and marketing and will continue until the first quarter of 2025. Schloesser will be backed by GainingEdge’s global team, including experts based in Beijing.
