Marcel Stittner has been named General Manager for the highly anticipated resort, Rancho Pescadero, which makes its grand debut this September.
Marcel is a seasoned industry leader bringing 28 years of luxury hotel experience with a proven history of driving environmentally forward initiatives and providing excellence in guest services. He will oversee daily operations of the 103-suite resort as it enters a new chapter of hospitality.
Originally from Germany, the Cornell University Graduate began his hospitality career in 1994. Most recently he led the team at Tabacón Thermal Resort and Spa in Costa Rica, where he managed the rebranding and renovation of the hotel, as well as its reopening process after COVID-19 closures. Prior to that, he honed his skills in management and food and beverage operations at globally renowned Starwood Hotels & Resorts in Costa Rica, where he rose through the ranks from food and beverage director to leading operations for the resort and casino. At IHG Hotels & Resorts in Venezuela and Costa Rica, Marcel notably oversaw the InterContinental Meetings and Sound Strategy and the opening of the first InterContinental Club Tower in the world. His extensive global experience also includes leadership positions in other remarkable destinations including the Maldives, Nigeria and Germany.

In his new role as General Manager of Rancho Pescadero, Marcel will lead the hospitality and operations team through its masterful redesign and ground-up transformation as well as, once opened, manage the day-to-day operations of delivering an unparalleled guest experience among the uncomplicated pleasures of Baja California’s Pacific Coast landscape. With a preeminent commitment to regenerating the local community through various environmental and infrastructure efforts, Marcel will forge the path for Rancho Pescadero towards a culturally resonant future for travel and tourism altogether.
