Sheraton Grand Danang Resort Appoints Sherrilyn Charles

The  Sheraton Grand Danang Resort, a stylish luxury beachside resort on the stunning white sands of Non Nuoc beach, announced that industry veteran Sherrilyn Charles has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing.

A seasoned hospitality professional with more than 20 years of experience, Sherrilyn brings a strong business development background that will position her to grow the resort’s business across Asia and beyond.

“Sherrilyn brings impressive leadership skills and valuable expertise to lead our sales and marketing team,” said General Manager Frank Bochmann. “Her global experience in hospitality makes her uniquely suited to both deepen our reach within Asia and expand our markets to Europe and North America.”

An expansive luxury retreat on the white sands and tranquil blue waters of the East Vietnam Sea, Sheraton Grand Danang Resort offers 258 luxury guest rooms and suites – each with a view of the ocean. Sheraton Grand Danang Resort is distinct from other Danang hotels, offering the city’s longest outdoor swimming pool as well as six signature restaurants and bars featuring a variety of local and international cuisines. The resort is just 20 minutes from Danang International Airport and easily accessible from most of Asia.

As Director of Sales and Marketing, Sherrilyn will bring two decades of experience in the industry, including valuable global perspective and international market knowledge gained from years of working in the Europe/Middle East/Africa regions. She comes to the Sheraton Grand Danang Resort from Samoa, where she was the Complex Director of Sales and Marketing for two connected Sheraton properties. She has strong leadership skills and an ability to build teams and position them for success.

A native of the Caribbean, Sherrilyn launched her career while attending (InterCollege in The Hague) as a tourism hostess with Club Med in Tunisia. Following graduation, she took her first position with Hilton Hotels in the Netherlands in sales. She grew her career in sales and marketing taking on roles with progressive levels of responsibility at hotels and resorts in the EAME, Pacific and Southeast Asia regions.

Sherrilyn joined Starwood in 2008 where she served as International Business Development Manager and she led the business development team to expand international markets for both leisure and MICE audiences.

Sherrilyn is fluent in Dutch, French, German and Spanish. When she’s not working, she enjoys traveling around the world, or furthering her passions of music and dance.
