11 Injured in Lufthansa Flight Turbulence Over the Atlantic Ocean

A Lufthansa flight from Buenos Aires to Frankfurt experienced severe turbulence over the Atlantic Ocean on Tuesday, resulting in injuries to eleven people onboard.

The German airline reported that five passengers and six crew members sustained injuries, most of them minor, and received medical treatment upon landing.

The turbulence, described as “brief and violent,” struck the Boeing 747-8 while it was flying through an intertropical convergence zone, an area known for unstable weather conditions.

Despite the turbulence, Lufthansa emphasized that the safety of the flight was never compromised, and the aircraft continued safely to its destination.

Carrying 329 passengers and 19 crew members, flight LH511 encountered the turbulent air unexpectedly.

Upon arrival, injured individuals were promptly attended to by medical personnel.

In a statement, Lufthansa expressed its regret for the distress caused to passengers, reminding travelers of the importance of wearing seat belts whenever seated, as an essential safety precaution during flights.

Lufthansa’s quick response and adherence to safety protocols highlight the airline’s commitment to passenger well-being, even in challenging mid-flight situations.
