Air Canada has soared to new heights by becoming the first airline worldwide to offer Disney+ Originals as part of its in-flight entertainment (IFE) system.
This groundbreaking move provides Air Canada passengers with exclusive access to an array of Disney+ Original programming, suitable for all ages, to enjoy while they fly.
Starting this month, travelers will have the pleasure of viewing an assortment of episodes from popular Disney+ Original series, including “Limitless with Chris Hemsworth,” “Cars on the Road,” and “Zootopia+.” Additionally, original movies like “Disenchanted” and “Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers” will be available at their fingertips. This initiative is part of Air Canada’s ongoing efforts to enrich the family travel experience, offering critically acclaimed content from the Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic franchises.
John Moody, Managing Director of Product Design at Air Canada, expressed excitement about the collaboration: “Families with kids and enthusiasts alike will enjoy watching familiar favorites and exciting new Originals. Taking in a Disney+ Original is a great way for our global customers to start or end their journey with us.”
Air Canada’s commitment to family-friendly travel has been consistently recognized by the industry. This year, the airline was awarded the title of the world’s most family-friendly airline at the Skytrax World Airline Awards. It also claimed the title of Best Family-Friendly Airline in North America for the fifth year running and Best Family-Friendly International Airline for the fourth year at the Wherever Awards.
Further accolades include being named Best Airline for Onboard Entertainment by Global Traveler for the fifth consecutive year and receiving the Passenger Choice Award for Best Entertainment in North America by the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX).
The airline’s recent collaborations with Disney have brought a myriad of Disney-themed experiences to Air Canada customers. These include an in-flight safety video inspired by the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, a Disney-themed children’s room in the Transborder Maple Leaf Lounge at Toronto Pearson, and a special aircraft livery celebrating Disney and Pixar’s “Turning Red.”
With over 420 movies, more than 1,000 TV episodes, over 130 music albums, podcasts, and more, Air Canada’s IFE offers an unparalleled selection of content. The airline ensures that all customers, regardless of their seating class, have complimentary access to the best entertainment options from boarding to landing.
