Air China Starts Third Daily Beijing-Los Angeles Service

Air China has launched the third nonstop service between Beijing and Los Angeles from July 1, 2015. This is the first time that ocean-crossing three-times daily flights from Beijing are operated in the history of China’s commercial aviation. Back in 1982, Air China commenced the Beijing-Los Angeles service; the carrier increased the service to daily in 2006 and to twice daily in 2013.

To mark the inaugural flight of the third service, Air China prepared, for each passenger, carefully selected, wonderful and practical gifts, including a short-term US telephone card, admission ticket to a song and dance show in Las Vegas and Air China’s cartoon baggage tag. Air China put an outstanding crew on, and made meticulous preparations for, the inaugural flight to ensure that the flight would go smoothly.

As a Star Alliance member carrier, Air China offers Star Alliance Lounge in the terminal to VIP passengers. The lounge has just been voted the “Best Alliance Lounge” by Skytrax. The 1,675-square-meter lounge offers a bar area for socializing, a library space, a den, a study and a media room. Printing, fax and photocopy services are available on request. Passengers wishing to freshen up before their flight can do so in one of the eight shower rooms. In addition, on the China-US routes, Air China also offers seasonal foods and VIP chauffeured transfer. Comfortable cabin environment and attentive services guarantee passengers a truly pleasant travel experience.

With the market demand for travel between China and the United States increasing quickly, Air China has been quite committed to building its China-US route network. Air China has made eye-catching investments in capacity and aircraft upgrade. From 2013 to 2014, Air China started three nonstop services from Beijing to Houston, Hawaii and Washington. Currently, it serves 7 destinations in North America with 138 flights per week, including New York, Los Angeles, Houston, San Francisco, Washington, Vancouver and Hawaii. All these routes are operated with Boeing 777-300ER. On January 1, 2015, Boeing 747-8, a new member of the Boeing 747 family, joined Air China’s fleet operated on the carrier’s long-haul international routes and flew successfully for the first time on Beijing-New York and Beijing-San Francisco routes, enhancing passengers’ travel experiences.
