Air France has officially started a non-stop daily flight between New York- Newark International (EWR) and Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) serviced by a Boeing 777-200.
As the leading airline on the Paris-New York route, Air France is continuing to increase its capacity between the two regions, with the new route supplementing Air France’s six daily flights between New York-JFK and Paris-CDG.
The airline now operates a year-round, non-stop daily service between its hub at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport and New York-Newark Liberty International Airport, the largest airport in New Jersey and the second largest international airport to serve the New York metropolitan area, located approximately 18 miles away from Manhattan.
“With demand for travel continuing to grow, we are thrilled to bring back this route in New Jersey, connecting more travelers to Paris and beyond,” said Eric Caron, Senior Vice President of North America at Air France KLM.
“The New Jersey and larger Tri-State region is an extremely important market, and this anticipated route will make it even easier for our customers in these areas to fly Air France.”
“The Port Authority remains committed to offering greater connectivity to more destinations from Newark Liberty,” said James Gill, General Manager of New Jersey Airports.
“The launch of Air France’s non-stop daily service between its hub at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport and our airport is essential to realizing further growth and becoming more competitive, and we look forward to our continued partnership in this endeavor.”
Flights are operated by a Boeing 777-200 with a capacity of 280 seats. The plane is equipped with 40 Business “full flat” seats that transform into a real bed and provide all passengers direct access to the aisle. The 24 Premium Economy seats offer more space and more comfortable seat cushions as well as a multi-position footrest. In Economy, the 216 seats offer an optimum comfort for all. In every cabin, customers can use Air France Connect, the airline’s inflight Wi-Fi and have access to more than 1,000 hours of inflight entertainment. Everyone can also enjoy memorable culinary delights including a complimentary champagne offer.
The flight times allow for numerous connections in both Paris and the New York area, where Air France customers from Europe and beyond will be able to continue their journeys on flights operated by its partner Delta Air Lines.
