Avia Solutions Group, one of the world’s leading aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance (ACMI) providers, has announced the acquisition of UK-based airline operator Synergy Aviation, Ltd. The move is set to strengthen the Group’s position in the UK aviation market and open up new opportunities for expansion.
The newly acquired company, which holds an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) and Type B Operating License from the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), will be rebranded as Ascend Airways under Avia Solutions Group’s ownership. The deal marks a significant milestone for the Group as it extends its reach into the UK market.
Avia Solutions Group has been operating in the UK aviation market for over a decade, managing maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) and charter brokerage businesses. With the acquisition of Synergy Aviation, the Group aims to diversify its services by offering ACMI and Charter services in the UK.

The acquisition comes with Alastair Willson, an industry veteran, taking the helm of Ascend Airways. Willson will be responsible for managing and developing Avia Solutions Group’s Charter and ACMI business in the UK. He emphasized the benefits that a local AOC brings to UK airlines, charter customers, and consumers.
“Our immediate focus is on working with the UK CAA to obtain a Type A Operating License,” Willson explained. “By the end of the year, we plan to offer ACMI and Charter services with aircraft ranging from 180 to 200-seat capacity. Our aim is to provide UK customers with locally-based aircraft and crews, ensuring a flexible and reliable service while minimizing operational disruptions.”
