Bombardier’s Global 8000 business jet set its first speed record on a mission departing from Montreal, Canada and landing in Nice, France. The aircraft completed the mission in just over six hours on 5 June, making it the fastest civilian aircraft in the industry since the Concorde. On this specific mission, the aircraft was taking passengers to the Monaco F1 Grand Prix.
It is also the only business jet with four spacious suites of equal size and Bombardier says it is also the most luxurious. This where the ELIE SAAB came in to collaborate in the design of the aircraft’s interior which was also unveiled at the Monaco F1 GP.
“When we began discussions with ELIE SAAB, the Global 8000 was already well on the path to becoming a certified, operational aircraft. This allowed us to go beyond concepts and rethink the cabin as a true living space, while fully respecting the performance and operational realities of the aircraft,” said Éric Martel, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bombardier. “This collaboration pushes the boundaries of business aviation and reflects our relentless focus on elevating the customer experience.”
Bespoke cabin interior design
For ELIE SAAB, the Global 8000 cabin has been reimagined as a sophisticated, harmonious space, defined by clean architectural lines, rich materials and a warm, timeless palette that enhances both openness and fluidity.
Designed as an intimate yet open and highly personalised environment, the cabin translates a refined way of living into the experience of private travel. At its centre, a generous lounge area serves as the heart of the cabin, offering an inviting setting designed to foster well-being, connection and effortless comfort.
