easyJet has unveiled a new winter route, connecting Bournemouth airport to Lyon, France, starting from 13th January 2024.
This new route will operate every Saturday until 24th February 2024, making it an ideal option for week-long trips during the ski season and over the schools’ half-term break. With flights now on sale starting from just £23.99, customers have the opportunity to book early and secure the best fares.
This addition complements easyJet’s existing winter route from Bournemouth to Geneva, initiated in December 2021, providing customers in southern England another convenient gateway to the Alps. Lyon airport is in proximity to several popular ski resorts including Tignes, Val d’Isère, Alpe d’Huez, Les 2 Alpes, Val Thorens, and La Plagne.
Lyon, the third-largest city in France, located at the confluence of the Rhône and Saône rivers, is renowned for its exquisite cuisine and architecture. The city boasts four historic districts, each listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, making it a splendid destination for those interested in exploring world-class food and historical architecture.
Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, expressed her excitement about the new route, stating, “We are really pleased to be announcing a second winter route from Bournemouth to Lyon today, providing more choice for our customers in the South who are looking to visit the Alps region.” She emphasized that now is a great time to book early to get the best fares.
Steve Gill, Managing Director at Bournemouth Airport, welcomed the new route, highlighting that winter routes from Bournemouth are gaining popularity and the addition of Lyon provides even more connectivity to the Alps this winter.
Flights can be booked at easyJet.com or via the mobile app.
