Ethiopian Airlines Group, recognized as Africa’s largest and a rapidly growing global airline brand, has announced the selection of the AVANT Up inflight entertainment system for its upcoming Airbus A350-1000 aircraft.
This move, enhancing the passenger experience, aligns with Ethiopian’s multiple award-winning service, including consecutive SKYTRAX awards for six years.
The new inflight entertainment system, provided by Thales Inflyt Experience, features a fresh user interface and offers a variety of digital services, including interactive maps, shopping, and customizable meal and beverage selections. The CEO of Ethiopian Airlines Group, Mr. Mesfin Tasew, emphasized the airline’s commitment to maintaining its leading position by prioritizing exceptional onboard experiences. The AVANT Up system promises an immersive and cinematic experience, equipped with unique features to keep passengers engaged and relaxed throughout their flight.
Bruno GUINAMAND, Regional Vice President at Thales Inflyt Experience, highlighted Ethiopian Airlines’ decade-long trust in Thales as their inflight entertainment supplier. The AVANT Up IFE solution, with its latest consumer technologies, will significantly enhance the in-flight experience. Key features include OPTIQ 4K QLED HDR displays, dual Bluetooth connections, built-in Wi-Fi for multi-device pairing, and in-screen USB-A and USB-C charging ports with up to 70 watts of power.
Ethiopian Airlines, consistently awarded as the best airline in Africa by SKYTRAX, continues to invest in technology to elevate its passengers’ onboard experience. The first of the Ethiopian Airlines Airbus A350-1000 aircraft equipped with this state-of-the-art system is expected to be delivered in the third quarter of 2024.
