ITA Airways has announced an important new addition to the intermodality project sponsored jointly by Aeroporti di Roma, ITA Airways and Trenitalia, a week after the product presentation event last 27 April.
Beginning today, passengers arriving at Rome Fiumicino airport by train with Trenitalia and holding an onward ITA Airways ticket to any domestic or international destination (excluding only the USA and Israel) may check-in and drop off their luggage directly at the station, at the dedicated FCO Connect desks serviced by Swissport.
Combined train-plane tickets can be purchased on all ITA Airways’ digital channels, at partner travel agents or ITA Airways ticket offices, or through the ITA Airways Contact Centre.
Combined tickets are also available for purchase by passengers abroad travelling by train in Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Thanks to the partnership with Accessrail, ITA Airways passengers may travel with Renfe via Madrid and Barcelona, North East Railway/Great Western Railways/National Express/Avanti West via London, SBB Swiss Railways via Zurich and Geneva, SNBC via Amsterdam and Brussels.
This new project highlights the importance of intermodality for ITA Airways, which combines its values and ambitions, focusing on sustainability, innovation and customer centricity, with the aim of establishing more efficient connections between Italian cities and ITA Airways’ network destinations.
