There has been speculation about it for some time now and here it is: A Michelin star for the Mountain Hub Gourmet at Hilton Munich Airport.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Michelin Guide announced its star ratings in Hamburg and the fine-dining restaurant at Munich Airport was awarded for the first time.
With this award, Germany finally has yet again a Michelin-starred restaurant at an airport – which comes only six months after the reopening of Mountain Hub Gourmet. Since then, the 33-year-old chef Stefan Barnhusen has impressed his guests with modern-international cuisine once again. He had previously worked in the starred restaurant “Jellyfish” in Hamburg and under three-star chef Christian Jürgens at “Seehotel Überfahrt” on Lake Tegernsee.
“For me, as a gourmet lover, the award has enormous significance and of course we are incredibly proud of Stefan Barnhusen and the entire team. The award shows the great quality of our product and that hard work definitely pays off!”, says Markus Hussler, General Manager of Hilton Munich Airport.
He is certain that the Michelin star will further raise the restaurant’s profile and highlight the gastronomic diversity and quality at Munich Airport.
It is safe to say, that now there is another great reason to plan plenty of time at the airport – whether it is for an exclusive stopover or a gourmet excursion from Munich.
