Turkish Airlines has just announced an exciting update for its passengers flying down under. The new Istanbul-Kuala Lumpur-Sydney route, which was initially set to launch in early December, will now take off a week earlier than expected.
The first flights are now scheduled for November 28 and 30, 2024, offering travelers a chance to experience the renowned service of Turkish Airlines on this long-awaited route ahead of schedule.
Instead of the originally planned Airbus A350-900XWB, Turkish Airlines will be deploying its Boeing 777-300ER for the first two flights. This aircraft switch ensures a smooth and comfortable journey for the passengers on these inaugural flights.
The outbound flight, TK174, will depart from Istanbul at 15:15, arriving in Kuala Lumpur the next day at 06:20, before continuing to Sydney, landing at 18:30 local time. The return flight, TK175, departs Sydney at 20:40 and will touch down in Kuala Lumpur at 01:55 the following day before heading back to Istanbul, where it will arrive at 10:15.
This addition to Turkish Airlines’ flight network comes on top of its three weekly services between Istanbul and Melbourne via Singapore, also operated by Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
The new Sydney route will bring even more options for travelers flying between Europe and Australia, with 1,306 weekly seats available in both directions.
Meanwhile, the Melbourne route, serviced by the Airbus A350-900, offers 987 weekly seats, providing a wide array of choices for passengers seeking convenience and comfort.
