Orlando International Airport handled 4.5 million travelers in July 2019

The peak of the summer travel season saw nearly 4.5 million travelers at Orlando International Airport (MCO) in July. That is an increase over last summer’s record by more than 6.2 percent.

A double-digit increase of nearly 13 percent in international traffic once again propelled the overall passenger numbers into uncharted territory for MCO.

“With our July figures in, we are now approaching 49.6 million passengers for the year,” says Phil Brown, Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. “Our summer numbers are being bolstered by the fact that Central Florida’s theme parks continue to expand and add new and exciting attractions for visitors from around the world.”

Contributing to the positive July numbers, El Al Airlines started new seasonal service at MCO to Tel Aviv, Israel and nearly 370,000 additional seats were added to the market from Spirit, Frontier, GOL, Copa and JetBlue airlines.

July 2019 Statistical Data:

  • International traffic increased 12.98 percent in July with 691,707 arrivals and departures at MCO
  • Domestic passenger traffic climbed 5.07 percent with 3,798,304 total travelers in July
  • Combined, overall traffic was up 6.22 percent with 4,490,011 passengers for the month of July
  • On a rolling 12-month basis, MCO’s yearly traffic stands at 49,581,415 passengers (record), which is a 7.2 percent increase over this time last year
