Plane crashed in Iran, All 66 people on board feared dead

An Iranian passenger plane with 66 people on board crashed in central Iran on Sunday during a flight from Tehran to Yasuj.

According to Iranian media, the crashed plane’s model is ATR-72. According to Planespotter database, the aircraft is delivered in December 1993 – Age 24.3 years.

The plane, operated by Iranian carrier Aseman Airlines, came down in a mountainous area near the town of Semirom.

Flight EP3704 left Tehran at 04:30 GMT, and crashed about an hour later. Sixty passengers, two security guards, two flight attendants and the pilot and co-pilot were on board.

Bad weather has hampered rescue efforts. Rescue helicopters are unable to land because of heavy fog and that emergency workers are trying to reach the area by land.
