A new nonstop route is set to transform travel options for Southern California residents, offering seamless access to Latin America and beyond.
Copa Airlines will launch direct flights from San Diego to Panama City starting June 25, 2025, marking a major milestone for the airline’s U.S. expansion.
With this addition, San Diego becomes Copa Airlines’ third destination in California and its 17th U.S. route, strengthening connectivity between North, Central, and South America, as well as the Caribbean. The new service is expected to boost tourism, trade, and business ties, offering travelers a fast and convenient gateway through Copa’s Hub of the Americas® in Panama.

The launch of this new route underscores Copa Airlines’ commitment to expanding its footprint in the United States, making it easier for passengers to reach 86 destinations across 32 countries. The airline’s renowned efficiency, punctuality, and service standards will provide San Diego travelers with more options for Latin American travel than ever before.

Flight Schedule and Travel Convenience
The nonstop flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, offering a smooth and reliable connection for both business and leisure travelers.
- Departing from Panama City at 1:16 p.m. (local time), arriving in San Diego at 6:15 p.m.
- Departing from San Diego at 8:58 p.m., arriving in Panama City at 5:20 a.m. (local time).
This schedule is designed to allow passengers to connect efficiently to other Copa Airlines destinations, minimizing layover times and improving overall travel experiences.
