SAS Expands Codeshare Routes via Air France-KLM

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) is extending its global reach through an expanded codeshare agreement with Air France-KLM, offering passengers seamless access to new international destinations.

For the first time ever, SAS customers can now fly to Fortaleza and Salvador de Bahia in Brazil, as well as Johannesburg and Cape Town in South Africa.

This latest expansion strengthens SAS’ commitment to enhancing connectivity for Scandinavian travelers, adding to the growing list of destinations available through its Air France-KLM partnership.

New Destinations Now Available for SAS Travelers

Through the extensive networks of Air France and KLM, SAS passengers can now book flights to an even wider range of international destinations. The latest additions to the SAS network include:

• Brazil: Fortaleza, Salvador de Bahia, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo
• South Africa: Johannesburg, Cape Town
• Asia: Osaka, Bangkok

These destinations are part of SAS’ broader strategy to increase long-haul connectivity, providing Scandinavian travelers with more choices when flying to key leisure and business locations around the world.

The extended codeshare agreement further enhances SAS’ global presence, particularly in South America and Africa, two regions where the airline previously had limited direct access.

Paul Verhagen, Chief Commercial Officer at SAS, emphasized the importance of the expansion:

“Our partnership with Air France-KLM continues to unlock new opportunities for our travelers, and we are thrilled to now offer our customers a trip to Fortaleza and Salvador de Bahia for the first time ever. This is just the beginning — our list of codeshare destinations will continue to grow, enhancing connectivity and convenience for both SAS’ and our partners’ customers.”

The announcement comes as SAS prepares for a new era in global aviation, positioning itself as a key player in connecting Scandinavian travelers to more destinations worldwide.

The Air France-KLM partnership allows SAS passengers to book connecting flights on a single ticket, making international travel more streamlined and hassle-free. By leveraging Air France and KLM’s existing hubs at Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS), SAS travelers can easily transit to long-haul destinations without additional booking complications.

This expanded agreement builds upon SAS’ existing codeshare routes within Europe and to/from Tokyo, further strengthening its global network.
