SriLankan Airlines, the flag carrier of Sri Lanka and a member of the prestigious one world Alliance, has announced APG as its official Passenger General Sales Agent (GSA) in Ireland.

This partnership, effective from November 2023, marks a significant milestone in the airline’s efforts to enhance its presence in the European market, particularly in Ireland.

APG, known for its robust network and expertise in the aviation industry, will provide comprehensive services including sales development, marketing initiatives, and streamlined reservation and ticketing services for SriLankan Airlines. This collaboration is set to significantly ease the process of booking flights and accessing other passenger services from Ireland to Colombo and beyond.

SriLankan Airlines, headquartered at Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo, offers an extensive network of routes, connecting South Asia, Southeast Asia, the Far East, Europe, the Middle East, and Australia. The partnership with APG is expected to amplify the airline’s reach, particularly facilitating travel from Ireland to these destinations, with convenient connections through London, Doha, or Abu Dhabi.

Dimuthu Tennakoon, Head of Worldwide Sales Distribution at SriLankan Airlines, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. “We are pleased to announce our partnership with APG, which will represent SriLankan Airlines in Ireland. This collaboration will enhance our spectrum of services in the Irish market, making it easier for passengers to reserve flight tickets and access other services to Colombo and our extensive network including India, the Far East, Maldives, and Australia,” stated Tennakoon.

Richard Burgess, President of APG Network, shared his optimism about the new role. “We are honoured to be appointed as the Passenger General Sales Agent for SriLankan Airlines in Ireland. This collaboration reflects our commitment to providing top-class sales and marketing support, as well as seamless reservation services. We look forward to contributing to the airline’s success in the Irish market,” he added.

The alliance is a strategic move for SriLankan Airlines as it continues to expand its global footprint. It is also a testament to the airline’s commitment to offering seamless and convenient travel options to its passengers. With APG’s expertise and strong presence in the Irish market, this partnership is poised to open new doors for travelers seeking to explore Sri Lanka and its extensive network of destinations.
