Widerøe, the largest regional airline in Norway with a rich history dating back to 1934, has announced a strategic partnership with APG, appointing it as its online General Sales Agent (GSA) in the United Kingdom.
This collaboration is aimed at enhancing Widerøe’s market reach and promoting its extensive network of services in the UK.
Under this agreement, APG will be responsible for a wide array of services including sales, marketing, reservations, and ticketing for Widerøe. This partnership is expected to facilitate better service and assistance to UK agents and customers, leading to increased knowledge and sales of flights between the UK and Norway.
Kristin Gaustad, the Sales and Marketing Manager Leisure for Widerøe, expressed the company’s pleasure in appointing APG as their GSA in the UK. She emphasized the importance of local representation in providing enhanced services and assistance to UK agents and customers. Widerøe is optimistic about welcoming more UK passengers on board and believes that this partnership will lead to better knowledge and increased sales of their flights between the UK and Norway, as well as on their extensive network in Norway.
Alan Daniels, the Director of Sales & Operations UK, also expressed delight over the partnership with Widerøe, recognizing it as the largest regional airline in Scandinavia. He mentioned that APG UK has been given a fantastic opportunity to expand business across Europe with current scheduled services to Aberdeen, Liverpool, and London Stansted in the UK. He noted that traffic to Norway has bounced back to 2019 levels, and there is a significant opportunity to boost tourism out of the UK and to strengthen business with corporate partners.

Widerøe is the largest regional airline in Scandinavia, with a staff of 2,500 and a turnover of NOK 3.5 billion. The company carries around 2.8 million passengers annually and flies to over 40 domestic and international destinations.
In 2018 Widerøe launched of the brand new Embraer 190-E2 aircraft. Widerøe is the first airline in the world to put the Embraer E190-E2 into commercial operations.
