The Hungarian airline Wizz Air is starting to fly daily from Berlin Schönefeld to the capital of Ukraine, Kiev as of July 15.
Wizz Air operates its flights using the Airbus A320, which carries 180 to 186 passengers. The flight leaves from Berlin every day at 7.55 and the flight lasts about 2 hours. Kiev Zhuliany Airport is only a few kilometres away from the centre of the Ukrainian capital and can be reached in just a few minutes by bus, train or car.
“We are delighted that Wizz Air is continually expanding its engagement with Schönefeld Airport. In 2018 especially, passenger numbers markedly grew once more. Kiev is at present the eighth location that can be reached from Schönefeld Airport,” says Johannes Mohrmann, Senior Manager Key Account and Business Development at Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH. “We are looking forward to adding more exciting routes, and as always, we wish a pleasant flight.”
The airline, which took off at Schönefeld Airport in 2016, offers seven other Eastern European destinations from Berlin, aside from Kiev. Their focus is on city destinations and inside tips for tourists: Budapest (Hungary), Tuzla (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Skopje (Macedonia), Kutaisi (Georgia), Cluj-Napoca (Romania) as well as Chisinau (Republic of Moldovia). In mid-June, the airline doubled its flights to Lviv (Lemberg), and now flies there four times a week.
