Wizz Air opened its Austrian base at Vienna Airport. The low-cost-carrier deployed one of its new Airbus A320 aircraft to the new base and will soon start of operations of five new services from Vienna to the popular destinations: Valencia, Rome Fiumicino, Malta, Bari and Tel Aviv.
The base establishment at Vienna represents a major investment in Austria by WIZZ, creating more than 200 direct jobs with the airline by 2019. With a total investment of $ 570 million***, in the upcoming 9 months the airline will continue to increase its operations at Vienna International Airport to become the second largest carrier in Austria in 2019 with a local fleet of 5 new Airbus aircraft, operating a network of 30 routes from Vienna to 22 countries and offering in total more than 2.2 million seats/ year. Expanding its operations, Wizz Air’s local team in Vienna will continuously increase, the next recruitment sessions being scheduled on 21 June in Vienna.
