Princess Cruises Elevates Dining with Exclusive Partnership with World’s Top Butcher

Princess Cruises, a name synonymous with luxury and grandeur, has announced an exclusive partnership with the world’s most celebrated butcher, Dario Cecchini.

This collaboration is set to introduce a unique specialty bistro, “The Butcher’s Block by Dario,” onboard the next-generation Sun Princess, which is scheduled to make its grand debut in February 2024.

Dario Cecchini, with a legacy spanning eight generations and boasting over 48 years of unparalleled experience, is globally recognized for his iconic butcher shop and restaurants nestled in the picturesque Tuscan village of Panzano, Italy. His commitment to the art of butchering was showcased on Netflix’s acclaimed series “Chef’s Table.” Cecchini is celebrated for his ethical approach to butchering, ensuring every cut of meat is utilized and honoring traditional recipes passed down through his family.

Situated on deck 9 of the Sun Princess, “The Butcher’s Block by Dario” promises an immersive dining experience. The bistro will feature a large communal table, offering guests a carnivorous delight, including Cecchini’s signature beef and steak cuts. Furthermore, the cruise line’s eminent steakhouse, Crown Grill, will unveil a sophisticated menu curated by Cecchini himself. A highlight of this menu is the “Bistecca Alla Fiorentina,” a renowned Florentine Steak, sourced directly from the esteemed Antica Macelleria Cecchini butcher shop.

Cecchini expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “Princess’ culinary offerings resonate with a deep-rooted Italian heritage, echoing a shared love for family recipes, lively social dining, and daily celebrations. My journey as an artisan butcher is a testament to my profound respect for the animals. I am thrilled to share this passion with guests onboard the magnificent Sun Princess.”

The Sun Princess is not just stopping at “The Butcher’s Block by Dario.” The ship will also house other specialty restaurants like Kai Sushi, Sabatini’s Italian Trattoria, Umai Teppanyaki, and The Catch by Rudi, ensuring a diverse and rich culinary journey for its guests.

John Padgett, President of Princess, emphasized the brand’s commitment to offering unparalleled experiences, stating, “Princess is unwavering in its dedication to crafting exceptional experiences for our diverse guests. From gourmet dining to casual bites, the Sun Princess promises a culinary adventure like no other.”

The Sun Princess, currently being constructed at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, will weigh a staggering 175,500-ton and accommodate 4,300 guests. The ship promises not only a gastronomic journey but also luxurious staterooms, state-of-the-art entertainment venues, and the exclusive Princess Medallion for a personalized experience.
