A Saudi Princess recently claimed the loss of jewelry worth over $930,000 from her suite at the Ritz hotel in Paris.
The unnamed Saudi Princess said jewels were taken on Friday afternoon when she was absent from her room. She told prosecutors the belongings were not left in the room’s safe. There were no signs of the room been broken into and a spokesperson from the Ritz declined to comment on the matter.
If confirmed, it would be the second heist from the Paris hotel. In January this year, a bunch of burglars had broken into the plush Parisian Hotel and stolen millions of dollars’ worth of necklaces and other jewelry from display cases. Although not all thieves were caught hold of by the police, they ultimately managed to recover the total value of the lost jewels.
Armed thefts are not uncommon in the area, where dozens of luxury boutiques and jewelry stores align the streets.
In October 2016, famed reality star Kim Kardashian was the victim of a robbery 10-minutes walk from the Ritz, in which millions of dollars’ worth of her jewelry were stolen.
