As the summer travel season heats up, millions are gearing up for their European getaways.
This year, Uber has introduced unique nautical experiences catering to tourists traveling to Spain, Greece, and France.
Uber’s new travel products are in response to the increasing demand for their services in Europe’s top tourist destinations.
In 2023, international customer usage of Uber’s mobility services rose by up to 55% in places such as Greece and Spain. Over 6.5 million international customers used the Uber app in Europe’s most popular spots last summer alone.
Anabel Diaz, vice president of EMEA Mobility at Uber, said, “At Uber, we want to give our customers the opportunity to go anywhere, wherever they are traveling. This summer, we are adding a series of bucket-list-worthy nautical experiences to the app in some of Europe’s hottest destinations, helping holidaymakers make the most of their trip on the high seas.”
Starting this month, Uber introduced a first-of-its-kind water transport service in Venice. The Uber Limo Boat, priced from EUR120 per trip, offers on-demand rides around the Venetian Lagoon for up to six people. Available between 8am and 8pm daily, this service provides a convenient way to explore Venice’s iconic waterways.
Uber Boat, already a hit in Mykonos, Greece, is expanding to Athens, Corfu, and Santorini later in July. Travelers can book these boats through the Uber app to reach beach clubs, scenic coves, and remote locales with ease.
Visitors to Paris this summer can take advantage of the Uber Cruise, a free one-hour private tour down the Seine. Up to six passengers can enjoy breathtaking views of Notre Dame, Le Louvre, and the Eiffel Tower while sipping on bubbly aboard an all-electric boat.
This August, Uber is launching Uber Yacht in Ibiza. For EUR200 per head, groups of up to eight can pre-book an eight-hour private yacht experience directly via the Uber app.
Departing daily from Ibiza Town Marina at noon, the Sunseeker Yacht comes complete with a personal skipper, complimentary beverages, and artisan snacks. Visitors can explore the crystal waters of Formentera and witness scenic sunsets at Es Vedra – all with seamless transfers to and from the yacht included.
Booking begins on July 26 via Uber Reserve. Availability of the boat services is expected to be limited and subject to weather conditions.
With these new offerings, Uber aims to enhance the travel experiences of tourists visiting Europe’s most popular destinations. Whether it is cruising through Venice, exploring the Greek islands, or enjoying the Parisian sights, Uber’s nautical services provide an exciting way to make the most of the summer holidays.
