Abu Dhabi to Host the 63rd ICCA Congress in 2024

The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) announced that its 63rd Congress is slated to be held from October 20-23, 2024, in Abu Dhabi.

The Congress will take place at the 133,000 square meter Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), a state-of-the-art facility designed to host international gatherings of this scale.

The decision to choose Abu Dhabi came after an in-depth review of several “extraordinary bids of the very highest standard,” according to ICCA officials. The capital city was selected for its unique combination of modernity, hospitality, and excellent infrastructure, including transportation and first-rate hotel accommodations.

A Multi-Purpose Venue to Inspire

The ADNEC will serve as a multi-purpose venue aimed at inspiring delegates through its state-of-the-art facilities and technology. Senthil Gopinath, the CEO of ICCA, stated, “ICCA recognizes how Abu Dhabi understands the transformative role major international events can play, and how delegates gathered from across the globe can meet, share, and learn in a spirit of openness and possibility.”

The Congress aims to offer numerous opportunities for networking, with a focus on sustainability and collaborative growth. “The 63rd ICCA Congress staged in this very modern metropolis promises to be a landmark event,” Gopinath added.

Abu Dhabi’s Vision 2030

The event also seeks to contribute to Abu Dhabi’s Vision 2030, a comprehensive plan focusing on sustainability, education, and career growth. This aligns with ICCA’s passion for nurturing young professionals entering the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) industry.

Local and Regional Support

The Congress is a result of strategic collaborations with local and regional partners. HE Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, Director General for Tourism at the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, said, “It is an honor to be able to host the ICCA Congress in Abu Dhabi, which demonstrates the emirate’s growth as a MICE destination.”

Al Geziry emphasized that the successful bid “has been possible due to the collective support from key stakeholders such as ADNEC as well as other local and regional partners.”

A Growing MICE Destination

Through these partnerships, Abu Dhabi aims to consolidate its reputation as a dynamic hub for the MICE sector. “By offering a wide array of distinct venues, hotels, and year-round cultural, leisure and entertainment options, we deliver travel and business experiences for all our MICE visitors,” Al Geziry concluded.

The 63rd ICCA Congress promises to set a new standard in international events, highlighting Abu Dhabi as a global MICE destination ready for the challenges and opportunities of the future.
