Dubai Fashion Week 2024: A Week of Haute Couture and Global Trends

Dubai Fashion Week (DFW) 2024 is back, bringing a week filled with haute couture, ready-to-wear collections, and global trends to the city.

Co-founded by Dubai Design District (d3) and the Arab Fashion Council, DFW’s Spring/Summer 2025 edition promises to elevate the city’s status as a burgeoning fashion capital.

From September 1 to 7, this vibrant event showcases the best of established and emerging designers, drawing in fashion enthusiasts and industry professionals worldwide.

Kicking off with a spectacular opening on September 1, the first three days of DFW will be dedicated to haute couture. The runway will light up with collections from some of the most exciting designers in the industry, starting with the designer duo Rizman Ruzaini, known for dressing global celebrities. The following days will see Spanish fashion icon Adolfo Dominguez and the avant-garde, homegrown talent Mrs Keepa taking the stage. Mrs Keepa, led by French Egyptian designer Mariam Yeya, will unveil her Spring/Summer 2025 collection, “Need Therapy,” with an exclusive short film in collaboration with VOX Cinemas. This innovative presentation will delve into the realities we face in everyday life, reminding viewers they are not alone.

DFW’s commitment to showcasing a diverse range of styles and cultures will continue with an extensive lineup of ready-to-wear collections. Over 30 brands from around the globe—including France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Palestine, Russia, the UAE, and the UK—will bring their unique aesthetics to the Dubai stage. This array of international talent promises to offer fashion-forward designs that cater to various tastes and styles, reinforcing DFW’s reputation as a truly global fashion event.

An Italian Fashion Showcase in Dubai

A special highlight of this year’s DFW is the debut of “La Moda Italiana: Dubai Edition,” an exhibition that showcases the excellence of Italian craftsmanship. Presented in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency, this three-day event from September 1 to 3 will feature 25 meticulously curated Italian brands. Attendees can explore a range of fashion categories, from clothing and footwear to leather goods and eyewear. This exhibition underlines the growing cultural and economic ties between Italy and the UAE, providing a unique opportunity for buyers and fashion enthusiasts to experience the pinnacle of Italian fashion right in Dubai.

Thought Leadership at Thread Talks 3.0

DFW 2024 isn’t just about the runway; it’s also a platform for thought leadership. The third edition of “Thread Talks 3.0,” scheduled for September 4, will gather some of the most influential voices in the fashion industry to discuss the future of fashion on a local, regional, and global scale. Organized in collaboration with Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, this panel discussion will offer valuable insights into the evolving challenges and opportunities in the fashion world, making it a must-attend for industry leaders and innovators.

Citywide Immersive Experiences

Expanding beyond the catwalk, DFW 2024 promises a series of exclusive citywide experiences designed to connect the fashion world with Dubai’s cultural and creative scene. These include private dinners for media and industry leaders, a buyers’ lunch hosted by Dubai Design District, an exclusive collection reveal by Bil Arabi, a private event by Swarovski, and a grand closing celebration hosted by Kiko Milano at The One and Only. These immersive experiences provide unparalleled networking opportunities, allowing industry professionals to forge deeper connections and collaborations.

Reflecting a growing focus on sustainability, DFW 2024 has partnered with Persil to promote responsible consumption in fashion. The relaunch of Persil Shampoo emphasizes preserving the beauty and longevity of clothing, encouraging consumers to care for their garments better and reduce the need for frequent replacements. This partnership aligns with DFW’s broader mission to foster a sustainable fashion ecosystem.

DFW’s success is attributed to its strategic partnerships with global brands, including Dyson as the official hair technology partner, Kiko Milano as the official make-up partner, ME Dubai as the official hospitality partner, and Lavazza as the official coffee partner. With support from partners like Electra, Magnum, Fiji Water, Joe & the Juice, and many more, DFW continues to set the standard for fashion events worldwide.
