The 2015 eat! BRUSSELS, drink! BORDEAUX festival ends on Sunday evening and has attracted a good number of visitors. Since Thursday lunchtime, more than 30,000 plates and 65,000 degustations of Bordeaux wine have been dished out at the site set up in the Parc de Bruxelles/Warandepark.
Set up in 2012, the Brussels year of gastronomy, the eat! BRUSSELS festival has made its mark as the symbol of the culinary diversity to be found in the European capital. For the second year running, the festival has also had the privilege of hosting “Bordeaux Celebrates Wine”, the Bordeaux wine tourism event.
From Thursday lunchtime to Sunday evening, more than 30,000 plates have been enjoyed. The sixty Bordeaux winemakers and traders have served 65,000 tastings of Bordeaux, including whites, rosés, reds and sparkling wines. Meanwhile, the École du Vin de Bordeaux trained 1300 people in four days. While an international village honored ten regions, provinces and cities, all partners of the Brussels-Capital Region. The move of the eat! BRUSSELS, drink! BORDEAUX festival from the Bois de la Cambre/Ter Kamerenbos to the Parc de Bruxelles/Warandepark can thus be called a success and this despite this weekend’s rainy weather.
The successful partnership has thus been endorsed for the second year running. Given the success of this edition, the partners are keen to renew the collaboration next year. In the meantime, the next appointment is given on 23 to 26 June 2016 when Brussels will be one of the guest cities of honour at the 10th edition of “Bordeaux Fêtes le Vin” in Bordeaux.
