ICC Sydney Wins at AIPC Congress with Leadership Program

The International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney), managed by ASM Global, has achieved another significant milestone by producing an award-winning graduate from the International Association of Convention Centres (AIPC) Future Shapers leadership program.

This recognition follows a competitive on-stage pitch to address convention center industry challenges at the AIPC Congress held in Costa Rica this week.

The AIPC Future Shapers’ ‘FutureForce’ team, led by ICC Sydney’s Gabriella Alberici, Senior Manager of Business Development – Corporate, Government & Events, and supported by Samantha Glass, Director of Corporate Affairs, Communication, and Sustainability, alongside representatives from convention centers in Paris, Belfast, and Kuala Lumpur, was celebrated for presenting an innovative technological platform. This platform aims to attract global talent, foster career development, enhance networking, promote learning, and raise awareness of the business events industry, optimizing the industry’s most essential asset—its people.

We are incredibly proud to have cultivated a culture that encourages our team to participate in world-class programs, fostering innovation and building global networks, which underpins our success.”

Gabriella’s achievement as the Team Leader of the winning FutureForce team is a testament to her tenacity, collaboration, and world-class venue management practices. This accolade adds to the success of previous AIPC Future Shapers alumni from ICC Sydney, including Dana Fish, Sathyan Chandrasekhar, and Sandra Rae, who have all represented the venue in this prestigious leadership program.

The AIPC Future Shapers program, led by AIPC CEO Sven Bossu and supported by an international taskforce, including program founder Samantha Glass, aims to accelerate the leadership and entrepreneurial skills of high-performing industry professionals.

“This year, participants have presented practical solutions to industry problems, such as attracting and retaining talent and improving communication for operational teams in centers,” said Samantha Glass. “I am incredibly proud of their collective efforts and performance throughout the nine-month program.”

The AIPC Future Shapers program is designed for senior managers with proven leadership skills seeking a learning opportunity that delivers practical outcomes benefiting the broader industry. As ICC Sydney continues to lead and innovate, its participation and successes in programs like AIPC Future Shapers underscore its commitment to shaping the future of events globally.
