Association Focus at IMEX Frankfurt addresses today’s critical need for association planners to adapt to changing member demographics, policy shifts, and budget constraints.
The event, backed by the Amsterdam Convention Bureau, promises a day filled with educational opportunities specifically for association professionals.
Set for May 13, a day before the main IMEX Frankfurt event, this collaborative initiative brings together insights from ICCA, AC Forum, and ASAE. Participants will enjoy a rich exchange of ideas and discussions aimed at navigating the future effectively.
One of the day’s highlights includes insights from Darren Edwards, a disabled adventurer turned motivational speaker, on cultivating an adaptive mindset and mental resilience. Edwards emphasizes the importance of adaptability and mental toughness in a rapidly evolving business landscape.
With a forecast from the World Economic Forum predicting significant job transformations in the coming years, the necessity for skill development is evident. Meredith Ellison from the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence will spearhead a session on preparing the future workforce through reskilling.
The potential of AI to redefine roles and enhance association impact is another focal point, led by Veemal Gungadin of Gevme. Despite widespread use, there remains a gap in utilizing AI effectively, a topic Gungadin will delve into.
Pigalle Tavakkoli of the School of Experience Design will discuss the significance of creating events that leave a lasting impression on attendees, moving beyond the superficial aspects to craft memorable and transformative experiences.
Sustainability in event planning is also a key topic, with Guy Bigwood of GDS highlighting the underutilization of sustainability efforts in communication and reporting. He will share strategies to amplify sustainability practices within the industry.
“While global recovery is progressing, there are still significant economic, political and environmental challenges on the horizon,” says Carina Bauer, CEO of the IMEX Group.
“Our international roster of speakers is set to share their take on the skills needed for the journey ahead, namely: adaptability, innovation, resilience and a collaborative spirit. Our dedicated day of learning and connections for association professionals is a sure-fire way to create a solid base for future business success.”
The event, sponsored by Amsterdam Convention Bureau, will be hosted at the Sheraton Frankfurt Airport Hotel and followed by a social gathering at the Frankfurt Marriott Hotel. It represents a collaborative effort with ICCA, AC Forum, and ASAE to empower association professionals.
