Lady Gaga to Perform Four Shows in Singapore, the only stop in Asia

Singapore will be the only stop in Asia for global pop icon Lady Gaga when she performs four shows at the National Stadium on May 18, 19, 21 and 24. The National Stadium can hold 55,000 to 60,000 spectators.

She last performed in Singapore 13 years ago in 2012 for her Born This Way Ball Tour, where she performed three shows at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Known for her image reinventions and versatility across the entertainment industry, she is an influential figure in popular music. Her famous hits include Bad Romance, Poker Face, Just Dance and Born This Way.

Lady Gaga has also appeared in films like musical drama A Star Is Born (2018), biopic House Of Gucci (2021) and musical drama Joker: Folie A Deux (2024). The ‘A Star Is Born’ soundtrack, which includes the chart-topper Shallow, won her an Oscar, Grammy, Bafta and Golden Globe – making her the first woman to win at these awards shows in one year.

The announcement for her Singapore shows follows the release of her seventh studio album, Mayhem, on March 7. Prior to the 14-track album’s release, she debuted three singles: Disease, Abracadabra and Die With A Smile (in collaboration with Bruno Mars).

General ticket sales for the Singapore concerts start on March 21 and pre-sale tickets start from March 18.

Singapore plays host to international acts

Lady Gaga’s upcoming concerts in Singapore are expected to be snapped up not only by her fans in Singapore but in the region. Fans will travel to Singapore just to attend concerts as in previous performances experienced last year where Singapore played host to big-name acts at the National Stadium, including Taylor Swift, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran and Bruno Mars.

Singapore’s economy was boosted by a “surge in tourism activity” in the first quarter of 2024 due to concerts by Coldplay and Taylor Swift which took place over 12 days, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) said in a CNA.com report. These large-scale concerts could have generated tourism receipts of between S$350 million (US$257 million) to S$450 million, according to estimates by private-sector analysts, MAS noted.

Upcoming big-name acts coming to Singapore include Black Eye Peas in August, BTS member J-Hope in June and American rapper Jason Derulo in March.

Music tourism is thriving, with the industry projected to hit $15.53 billion by 2034. Driven by global music festivals, immersive experiences, and cutting-edge technology, the sector is reshaping the way people travel.

Among the biggest music tourism attractions in history, Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour has redefined the impact of live performances on global travel, proving how deeply music tourism influences local industries.

Spanning 150+ shows across five continents, it has surpassed Elton John’s farewell tour in scale.
Cities hosting Swift’s concerts have seen record-breaking spikes in flight and hotel bookings.
Local businesses capitalised on the craze by offering Swift-themed experiences, exclusive merchandise, and concert-inspired packages.
