Catering to the specific needs of Muslim tourists, the 2nd Edition of World Islamic Tourism Mart and ASEAN Joint Seminar in Islamic Tourism (JOSIT) 2015 will be held from 23rd to 24th October at the Lombok Raya Hotel in Mataram, capital city of West Nusa Tenggara Province. This year, the special tourism mart and conference carries the theme “Together We Advance in Islamic Tourism Globally.”
The two days event is a joint collaboration between WITM Event Sdn Bhd and the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia and will feature Business to Business (B2B) Travel Mart, a Businesses to Customer (B2C) Travel Fair, and a conference on Islamic Tourism. Minister of Tourism of Indonesia, Arief Yahya is scheduled to grace the opening ceremony in the morning of 23rd October.
WITM-ASEAN JOSIT 2015 will be a meeting and networking place for renowned hotels, airlines, travel agencies and tour operators, government agencies, national tourism organizations (NTO) and tourism and travel service providers from across Indonesia and the world to tap into new market segments as well as to expand market share. The continuing growth of Islamic tourism is viewed to have significant economic potentials. The majority of buyers will come from the ASEAN countries as well as from China, Japan, Korea, Australia, India, and more.
Among those who will participate in the event are Airlines, Travel Agencies and Tour Operators, Umrah & Hajj package providers, Cruise providers, Hotels & Resorts, Theme Parks, Rail Tourism, National Tourism Organizations, SPAS & Wellness Resorts, and many others.
The 1st Edition of WITM was held in Jakarta on 24thto 26th October 2014 while the 1st Joint Seminar in Islamic Tourism (JOSIT) was held in Kuala Lumpur initiated by the Islamic Tourism Center (ITC), Ministry of Tourism Malaysia on 17th February 2014 under the theme MUSLIM – FRIENDLY HOSPITALITY SERVICES.
