Business Events in Malaysia is ‘bouncing back’ according to the country’s national convention bureau, Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau as it unveiled 18 international business events to be held in the country for the month of August 2022.

Malaysia’s stellar performance and the strong display of commitment by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC), various government agencies, and other strategic partners in securing business events for the country further reinforces Malaysia’s positioning as a Business Events Powerhouse.

“Malaysia’s significant breakthrough is reflected by MyCEB’s effort of securing a lineup of 14 Conventions, and 4 Trade Exhibitions to be held just in August 2022 alone. These business events are expected to bring together close to 24,000 total delegates which is estimated to generate more than RM56 million in economic impact to the Malaysian economy,” YB Dato’ Sri Hajah Nancy Shukri, the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) Malaysia said in a press release.

“The period in review saw MyCEB providing support towards 18 business events compared to pre-pandemic times, whereby we had a total of 14 conventions and exhibitions in August 2019. This is a strong testament that our industry players are resilient, and the support received from various government agencies are reaping results. We view these positive results as very promising for Malaysia and we hope to continue these efforts to progressively realise our mission,” Dato’ Sri Abdul Khani Daud, Chief Executive Officer of MyCEB added.

Some of the significant events happening in August includes the Malaysian Society of Anesthesiologists & College of Anesthesiologist Annual Scientific Congress, Asia Pacific Glaucoma Congress (APGC), and IPMEX Malaysia 2022.

Malaysian Society of Anesthesiologists & College of Anesthesiologist Annual Scientific Congress 2022 is a hybrid conference aimed at encouraging international and regional anesthesiologist’s networking, by providing participants with the most up-to-date information on anesthesiologists’ management and to encourage more doctors to choose a career in anesthesia.

“I would like to commend MyCEB’s role as the central agency that plays a pivotal part in providing a solid foundation for the recovery of Malaysia’s business events industry post-pandemic, as well as their continuous effort to uplift Malaysia’s standings as the preferred destination for international business events which will generate more business-to-business leads and creates endless opportunities for the country,” YB Dato’ Sri Hajah Nancy Shukri concluded.
