Penang to Host Prestigious 45th IAA World Congress in 2024

Penang, Malaysia, is set to shine on the global stage as the host city for the 45th International Advertising Association – IAA World Congress, scheduled for March 6-8, 2024.

This landmark event, celebrated under the theme “Brand: RE-CODE, for a Better World, Better Life,” aims to attract up to 1000 attendees from around the world, highlighting Penang’s potential as a vibrant hub for innovation and sustainable development.

With an anticipated economic impact of RM5.836 million, the congress aligns with Penang2030’s vision of transforming the state into the greenest, most technologically advanced region in Malaysia, fostering a dynamic economic landscape through innovation, job creation, and sustainable development.

Organized in collaboration with IAA Malaysia and the Penang state government, the 45th IAA World Congress marks a historic first for South East Asia, coinciding with the 85th Anniversary of IAA Global, the 30th Anniversary of IAA Malaysia, and International Women’s Day.

The congress will feature over 30 C-suite speakers, offering invaluable insights into marketing, AI, and the technology landscape, and providing a unique platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and collaboration across various industries.

The Chief Minister of Penang, The Right Honourable Chow Kon Yeow, emphasized the congress’s significance in showcasing Penang’s investment potential and its alignment with the state’s Penang2030 vision. Furthermore, the congress aims to bolster Penang’s position as a leading hub for business events, tourism, and the creative industries, contributing significantly to the state’s economic growth.

Malaysian attendees will benefit from the HRD Corp claimable category, allowing for direct debit from company levy accounts to cover attendance logistics, including daily allowances, flight tickets, accommodation, and land transport. The congress also boasts collaborations with global entities like Google, Meta, and BBC News, promising extensive media coverage and a broader audience reach.
