Prague Congress Centre Achieves Record Revenue in 2023

The Prague Congress Centre (PCC) has achieved record revenue in 2023. In 2023, the total revenue increased by 15%, reaching a high of CZK 609.6 million (EUR 24.5 million).

Revenue from the congress section grew by 10%, amounting to CZK 441.7 million (EUR 17.7 million). The Holiday Inn Prague hotel, owned by PCC, saw a remarkable 30% increase in revenue, reaching CZK 167.9 million (EUR 6.7 million).

PCC has positioned itself as a premium provider of international MICE services. The continuous growth, especially in short-term rental revenues, reflects the return to in-person meetings. Small corporate events and prestigious international conferences have significantly contributed to this growth.

“We have seen a considerable rise in scientific, medical, and technological events over the past two years,” said Lenka Žlebková, CEO of the Prague Congress Centre. She expressed satisfaction with the centre’s ability to attract prestigious international congresses to Prague.

Žlebková noted that the only barrier to securing more large-scale events is the lack of a multifunctional hall. She is hopeful that planned investments will commence soon to further develop the MICE industry in Prague.

Last year, PCC hosted 261 events. The most notable was the 27th World Road Congress, attracting over 4,000 delegates from 120 countries, including 40 ministerial delegations. By winning the bid over cities like Sydney and Kuala Lumpur, PCC showcased its capability to host prestigious international events.

In May 2024, Prague ranked among the top 5 most attractive European congress destinations, according to the ICCA ranking. Currently, Prague holds the sixth position worldwide. Žlebková highlighted that a significant part of the events hosted at PCC are political summits. Noteworthy events included the EU member states’ parliamentary presidents’ meeting in April and the Crimea Platform conference in October, which welcomed representatives from forty parliamentary chambers worldwide.

The Prague Congress Centre is one of the largest congress centres in the Czech Republic. It offers 70 halls and meeting rooms, equipped with state-of-the-art technical facilities, for events ranging from small conferences to large congresses.
