Sarawak will play host to the inaugural Business Events Tribal Meet – better known as TriBE 2018 in Kuching on 24th August 2018 to drive digital transformation within the Business Events sector.
Featuring a stellar line-up of keynote speakers including Mr Corbin Ball, a five-time appointee for “25 Most Influential People in the Meetings Industry” and renowned body-language expert Mr Christian Chua, the event will also congregate 4 global authority bodies – ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association), PCMA (Professional Convention Management Association), IAPCO (International Association of Professional Congress Organisers and UIA (Union of International Associations) in a bid to traverse and spur the industry’s growth.
TriBE 2018, an initiative by the Sarawak Convention Bureau (SCB), will gather over 200 Business Events professionals, comprising of decision makers from national associations, convention ambassadors, top-tier sector partners and government officials, as well as global and national media.
“As Sarawak undergoes a digital economic transformation, the role of Business Events becomes more critical than ever. Every conference, summit, exhibition, or just any form of meetings, has resulted in a rapid exchange of knowledge. This has left a legacy of powerful outcomes that has facilitated the transformation,” began Amelia Roziman, Chief Operating Officer of SCB.
“Just as we leapfrog from a traditional economy to a digitalised one, the sector would need to do so. Our industry partners would need the right tools and strategies to successfully convert – and this is where TriBE 2018 will bridge the gap,” she continued.
The conference will also feature the launch of the all-new government associate platform, BESarawak Alliance, as well as the premier award for Business Events – the 9th Anak Sarawak Awards.
“SCB is bringing the world’s leading Business Events experts in digital transformation, as well as prominent association authorities to Sarawak. This is a rare feat in a 2nd tier destination – but we have made this happen because their insights are vital as we enter the new dawn of our business,” concluded Roziman.
