Bench Events and Questex Hospitality Group, organisers of the International Hotel Investment Forum (IHIF), will host the inaugural Mediterranean Resort & Hotel Real Estate Forum (MR&H) from 9-11 November 2015 at the NH Collection Eurobuilding Hotel in Madrid.
The conference will be opened by Taleb. D Rifai, Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). According to UNWTO, tourist arrivals in the Mediterranean destinations will reach over 500 million in 2030. However despite the regions popularity, destinations around the Mediterranean face several challenges – economic, political and environmental.
The MR&H programme will feature 70 industry leaders, expert speakers and moderators who will be discussing the outlook for both the emerging and mature destinations in the region, the challenges these destinations face in the long-term, how they can adapt to changing market conditions and what opportunities they offer.
The programme has a number of highlights including
• Trendspotter Daniel Levine, Director from The Avant-Guide Institute – one of the world’s best-known trends experts. Daniel is the director of the Avant-Guide Institute trends consultancy, the Global Editor of the popular social trends website WikiTrend.org, and the leader of a large international team of trend spotters – over 9000 researchers who chronicle the latest ideas, products and experiences from around the globe.
• Resorts – From master plan to opening – what is required? How do you make money from resort development? How to transform depressed/tired areas in the resort space. Resorts featured include Quinta do Lago, Sotogrande, Amanzoe, Eden City Cyprus, La Manga Club, Dubrovnik Sun Gardens, PGA Catalunya
• The Real Investors – Who is investing and what they are looking for. Speakers include representatives from KSL Capital Partners, Colony Capital Europe, Starwood Capital Europe Advisers LLP, HI Partners, Azora and Katara Hospitality
