Barcelona is gearing up for an exciting event as the city sets up a giant screen for the Euro 2024 final.
This Sunday at 9:00 p.m., football fans will have the opportunity to watch the Spanish men’s soccer team face off against England.
The City Council on Thursday July 11 announced that Plaza Catalunya will host the giant screen.
Mayor Jaume Collboni highlighted the initiative, stating, “Barcelona reinforces its commitment to making sporting events a celebration open to all citizens.”
He expressed hope that fans would enjoy the match from this giant screen and, most importantly, witness a victory for the Spanish national team.
This initiative follows the council’s previous efforts to unite the community through sports.
On May 18, a giant screen was installed in Plaza Catalunya to broadcast the 2024 UEFA Women’s Champions League final, which saw FC Barcelona clinch the title.
Additionally, on August 20, 2023, a screen was set up at the Vall d’Hebron Municipal Olympic Sports Centre to watch the Women’s World Cup Final, where the Spanish team emerged as world champions.
With a history of successful public viewings, Barcelona is set to create an electrifying atmosphere for the Euro 2024 final.
