Efes Experience Museum from Turkey has won a prestigious award at the Mondo-Dr Awards, which honor outstanding projects in the exhibition and hospitality sectors worldwide.
Developed and operated by DEM Müzecilik under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the museum outshined its competitors to claim the title of “Best Museum.”
Located in Selçuk, İzmir, and part of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Ancient City of Ephesus, the Efes Experience Museum has made its mark in technology, design, and exhibition. The Mondo-Dr Awards, organized by the UK-based Modriale Publishing since 1984, held its seventh annual event on June 12 in Las Vegas. The awards recognize excellence in venue design, visitor experience, and technical installations. This year, Efes Experience Museum stood out and won the coveted award.
The Efes Experience Museum, one of the first museums to blend experiential museology with historical storytelling, surpassed notable competitors like Paris Eternal Mucha and Denmark’s Carl Nielsen and Regan Vest museums. In the final round, the museum competed with Aramco VIP Visitor Center in Riyadh, India in Fashion in India, and Dome Des Invalides in Paris. Efes Experience Museum emerged victorious, securing first place in the “Museums” category at the Mondo-Dr 2024 Awards. Last year, Dubai’s “Museum of the Future” won this prestigious title.
