EU Commission Approves Joint Acquisition of Fraport TAV Antalya Terminal

The European Commission has approved the joint acquisition of Fraport TAV Antalya Terminal by TAV Airports and Fraport AG.

The terminal, based in Antalya, Turkey, was previously under the control of Aéroports de Paris S.A., headquartered in France.

With the new agreement, TAV Airports, a Turkish company, and Germany’s Fraport AG will now jointly manage the terminal’s operations.

The acquisition is set to impact the airport operations market but is not expected to pose any competition concerns within the European Economic Area, according to the Commission’s findings.

The decision to clear the transaction was made under the EU’s simplified merger procedure, indicating a limited effect on market competition.

The Commission’s approval is part of its regulatory role in overseeing mergers and acquisitions that involve companies operating within the EU.

The review concluded that the deal is unlikely to significantly alter the market dynamics, ensuring that competition remains fair.

Additional details regarding the approval can be found on the European Commission’s Competition website under case number M.11729.
