Golf Season Kicks Off in Belek, Antalya with Optimistic Outlook and Course Improvements

With the arrival of September, activity in Belek, Antalya’s prime golf destination, is ramping up. Local golf facilities are opening for the season and expectations are high for a strong year.

In an interview with tourism writer Halil Öncü, Ahmet Çağıl, the General Manager of Antalya Golf Club, provided insights into the developments in Belek and its golf tourism. “Our golf season starts in September. The months of September, October, and November will be quite busy. Although the numbers are somewhat lower compared to previous years, we aren’t too concerned,” said Çağıl.

“We expect roughly 70% of our players to be primarily from the UK, but we will also serve guests from Germany and Scandinavia.”

Çağıl also mentioned that they have made several improvements to the course, particularly emphasizing the alterations made to hole number 5.

“We’ve changed the tee-off point at hole 5, elevating it by approximately seven to eight meters. We also moved the green—the ending point of the hole—about 20 meters back and tucked it behind trees on the right side. We aimed to make the course more entertaining and challenging,” he elaborated.

The changes to the course and the hopeful outlook for the season reflect a broader sense of optimism as Belek seeks to solidify its reputation as a world-class golf destination. With international tourism slowly getting back on track, local facilities are doing their best to offer an exceptional experience to both new and returning golf enthusiasts. (Halil Öncü)
